Guild

REGULAR ACTIVITIES

Church of Scotland Guild

With around 30,000 members, the Church of Scotland Guild is one of Scotland's largest voluntary organisation. Although women make up the bulk of our membership, increasingly, men are becoming members and taking active roles at local and national levels. The Guild invites and encourages women and men to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and enables them to express their faith in Worship, Prayer and Action.

Our own Guild meet at 7.15pm on alternate Thursdays from September to March. During the deepest part of winter of 2010/2011 (11 November to 17 February inclusive) we are meeting at 2.30 in the afternoon. Please see the Guild page for up-to-date information.

Sunday Club

The club meets at 11.00am on alternate Sundays from mid September to mid July and provides Christian education for children up to the age of twelve.

Bible Study Group

The group meets at 7.00pm on alternate Thursdays from October to April and provides people with the opportunity to study the Bible in depth and to pray together. Please see the events page for up-to-date information.

Prayer Group

The group meet at 9.30 every Saturday morning in the Vestry to pray for our church, our town and any other pressing matters.

Choir

The choir meet on Thursday evenings at 6.00pm for practice ready to lead the congregation on a Sunday.

Pastoral Care Group

Members of the group regularly visit some of the elderly and housebound in the congregation to offer them friendship and support.

Carpet Bowls Club

The club meets every Monday at 1.45pm from September to April.

Keep Fit Club

The club meets at 10.00am on Tuesdays from October to the end of May.

Walking Group

The group meet at 7.00pm every Thursday from May to August and provides fellowship during gentle walks.

Work Party

This group meets at 1.30pm on alternate Thursdays from October to May offering friendship as the ladies knit and sew articles to be sold for church funds or donated to charities.

Berwick Youth Project

Some members of the congregation occasionally provide evening meals for the young people who are resident at the Berwick Youth Project. The aim is to give the young people an opportunity to have a meal together seated around a table.

Burns' Supper

This is held at the beginning of February each year.
